About the Event
-For this year, 2021, this event is for piano only
-Registration period - October 1-21 (on website)
-Registration Fee - $21 per student
-Open to all ages - including adults
-Auditon format - student performs for two judges and then is free to leave
-Students will perform two memorized pieces composed in two different musical time periods from the following list:
Baroque, Classical, Romantic/Impressionistic, Contemporary (Contemporary pieces must reflect a contemporary idiom, for example: Dissonant harmonies, Fragmented melodies, Irregular Meter, Ostinato Bass, Jazz, Rag, Non-
traditional meter).
-No arrangements or abridgments will be allowed
-Teachers will enter students in the following levels:
Beginner 5 minutes
Intermediate 7 minutes
Advanced 10 minutes
-Students whose pieces exceed the time limit should expect to be stopped by the judges, but won't be penalized.
-Teachers will be required to judge for the duration of the event and will be e-mailed judging guidelines
-Teachers will be notified of their students' performance times approximately 2 weeks prior to the event. Time requests may not be made.
-Students will receive a certificate of participation, judged comments and their rating
-Please email Jan@bodepiano.com by July 15 the estimated number of students you think you will register and how many in each level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) to help us plan.
